The following is an (unofficial) translated version of part of minister Tony Tomassi’s press release, dated June 19, 2009:
The unanimous adoption of Bill 51 - An important move for nearly 15,000 home daycare providers
Quebec, June 19, 2009 - The proposal for Bill 51, deposited by Minister of the Family, Mr. Tonty Tomassi, has been unanimously adopted. The law regarding the representation of certain home daycare service providers and regarding the negotiation of a collective agreement pertaining to them, and related to modifying diverse leglisative dispositions, proposed a model that will meet the will of nearly 15,000 home daycare service providers who receive more than 91,000 children.
…”I am very happy about the unanimous adoption of this law. We can now begin discussions so that home daycare providers can benefit from their new representitive association and collective agreement, as soon as possible.” concluded the minister.
